Coaching Experience

Mike Mejia is entering his third season with Arsenal volleyball Academey, he has currently stepped into the new role as the director of player development. Mike has been coaching for six years now. Mike assisted the late Dave Andazola for two seasons, in those two seasons their 15s and 16s squads finished in division one and two respectively with a 3rd and 11th place finish at festival in Reno NV. Coach Mike has also Assisted at Upland High School and was apart of two of their undefeated league titles and quarterfinal finishes in the cif ss. In coach Mikes first year with Arsenal his 15-1s finished in division two respectively and finished in the top thirty-two at festival. In Mikes second year he coached the 16 2s which has been his most fulfilling season to date, by the end of the season Coach Mike, Coach Rudy, and their 16-2s finished ahead of the 16-1s in both the scva and in festival, with another top thirty-two finish and the highest finish in the club for the second consecutive year. 

Playing Experience

Coach Mike played volleyball at upland High School where he was a varsity letter winner since his sophomore year. Coach Mike holds the single season and all time assists record as well as the single season ace record. Mike went on to play his first year of collegiate volleyball at Golden West college in Huntington beach. Mike then went on to Santa Monica college where he Red-shirted and trained for a year under the direction of Pepperdine and avp standout John Mayer as well as CSUN standout Billy Allen. Mike plans on finishing out his indoor eligibility, completing his degree and then pursuing the beach game. 

Personal Information

Coach Mike prides himself in putting the young adults first. The late Dave Andazola always mentored coach Mike and though he is gone his high standards continue to serve as Mikes inspiration.
